Secure Sockets Layer, or SSL, is a protocol employed to encrypt the information exchanged between a hosting server and its users. The practical application of using an SSL is to preserve the information that clients submit on your website - a login page, a payment page if you run a web-based store, and so forth. Normally, an SSL certificate needs a dedicated IP address to be installed, which means the overall cost for your presence online will be higher. Shared SSL IP in Hosting

The adequate operation of the SSL won't be impacted in any way and any data that website visitors submit on your website will be encrypted and secured in the very same way. The one difference from using a dedicated address is that http:// shall not open your Internet site, but it is extremely unlikely that anyone will ever seek to access it in this way rather than entering your domain name within the Internet browser URL bar.

Shared SSL IP in Semi-dedicated Servers

The shared IP option is available with all semi-dedicated hosting plans and the setup takes only a couple of mouse clicks in the hosting Control Panel regardless if you purchase an SSL from our business or via a third-party vendor. There will not be any difference with regards to how the certificate operates or encrypts the data which your website visitors submit, so your website will be protected without having to spend any additional funds for a dedicated IP address. The only thing that'll be different is that https://the-shared-IP will not open your site, unlike https://the-dedicated-IP, but it's unlikely that anyone shall ever try to access your site in this way rather than entering your domain name. Additionally we offer an auto-configuration option for the SSLs obtained through our company and if you select it and you choose to use a shared IP rather than a dedicated one, our system shall set everything up as soon as the SSL is approved and issued without the need for any action on your end.
